The Lazers "Crash Site" (Team Area)
At home meets, our team area—the "Crash Site"—is located in the center of the pool area. At away meets, we will have a designated team spot.
For the Athletes:
- Kids Only! We ask that parents do not sit in the Crash Site. This area is a fun way for different age groups to mingle and encourages team bonding.
- Downtime: While in the Crash Site, athletes are encouraged to hang out, read, play card games, eat snacks, etc.
Rules & Expectations:
- Pay Attention: It is critical that athletes stay focused and aware of the event/heat numbers. We do not want them wandering off and missing their events!
- Pool Safety: There is absolutely no running on the pool deck. Additionally, athletes are only allowed in the competition area of the pool; all other pools/water areas are off-limits during the meet.
- Parent Responsibility: While the athletes are hanging out together, it is up to you as the parent to set the tone and expectations for your child’s behavior. Parents should determine the age-appropriate level of independence for their children at these meets.
