Swim Meet Details

Before the Meet

  • For Athletes (What to Pack):
    • Team swimsuit and swim cap
    • Team t-shirt
    • Two towels (highly recommended!)
    • Two pairs of goggles (always have a backup!)
    • Healthy snacks (e.g., granola bars, fruit) and a water bottle
    • Books, cards, or games for downtime between events
  • For Parents:
    • Feed your child a substantial, non-sugary snack about an hour before warm-ups begin.
    • Double-check that you have their goggles, cap, and several towels packed.
    • Arrive with your child already dressed in their team suit and t-shirt.
    • Cap Rule: Swimmers may not wear caps from year-round or high school swim teams.
    • Be prepared for the elements—plan for both extreme heat and potential rain.

What NOT to Bring For the safety of all athletes on the pool deck,no glass of any kind is allowed.

Inclement Weather Policy Unless you receive an official cancellation or delay notification via email, Rained Out, our Facebook page, or the team website, you should report to the pool as scheduled (whether Home or Away). We will communicate any weather updates as quickly as possible.

At the Meet

  • Arrival: Allow plenty of time to drive, park, and get settled before warm-ups begin. Immediately check in with your coach. If you are volunteering, please also check in with the Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Departure & The Relay Rule: You must check in with the coach before you leave for the day! The coach may need your swimmer for the relays that occur at the end of the meet.
    • If you know your child cannot stay for relays, you must notify the coach before the meet begins. * If your child is scheduled to swim in a relay and leaves early, their entire relay team has to forfeit.

Sample Swim Meet Timeline (Tentative)

  • 7:45 AM: Swimmers arrive
  • 8:00 AM: Swimmer warm-ups begin
  • 8:30 AM: Meet begins
  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Meet ends
